The Research, Publications and Consultancy Department:

(i) Assists the Deputy Director General and other stakeholders on educational matters related to achievement and maintenance of quality education through research and consultancy;

(ii) Leads the carrying out research in the field of education with a view to establishing research-based facts and solutions for improvement of the quality of education;

(iii) Maintains and facilitates dissemination of research findings to the public;

(iv) Supervises and provides consultancy services on various issues concerning education programmes;

(v) Develops fundable research proposals;

(vi) Scrutinizes proposed timings for projects and discusses them with the key directorates;

(vii) Organises symposia, exhibitions, seminars in academic arena;

(viii) Oversees publication of academic papers;

(ix) Recommends in-service training programmes to staff within the Directorate.
