The HRA Department:
(i) Plays the role of advisor to the Director General on matters pertaining to human resources management and administration;
(ii) Ensures optimal, efficient and effective utilization of human resources in the institute;
(iii) Develops, reviews and oversees the implementation of human resources policies, rules and regulations of the Institute;
(iv) Provides data support and updates records on various human resources information;
(v) Conducts periodic staff audit and advises accordingly;
(vi) Coordinates the implementation of Open Performance Review and Appraisal System (OPRAS);
(vii) Budgets and plans for all aspects of the Institute’s staffing and related matters;
(viii) Maintains a sound industrial relationship and develops an effective employee communication system;
(ix) Prepares recommendations for reviews of staff regulations, and schemes of service;
(x) Coordinates employees’ recruitment interviews and selection process;
(xi) Recommends an effective and efficient organization structure and development plans in line with strategic objectives;
(xii) Ensures safety, productive and innovative working environment for all employees;
(xiii) Ensures that discipline is maintained at the workplace and that, employees’ talents are fully utilized to achieve Institute’s objectives;
(xiv) Recommends continuous professional development training programmes to staff of the Institute.
