The Organization Structure is the means by which TIE discharges its mandated functions and mission. At the apex of the organization structure is the Governing Council. The Council is accountable to the Minister responsible for education and is the overseer of the Institute’s governance. The Director General is the Chief Academic and Administrative officer of the Institute with executive powers to discharge these duties.The Director General is accountable to the Council. Immediately below the Director General are four academic departments and nine administrative units. The four academic departments aredirectly responsible for implementation of the legal mandate (core functions) of the Institute provided for in the establishingAct No. 13 of 1975 while the nine administrative units provide various support services. The academic departments comprise of Curriculum Development and Review (CDR); Educational Materials Design and Development (EMDD);Research, Information and Publications (RIP); and Centre for Curriculum Training (CCT). Administrative Units include Human Resources and Administration (HRA); Finance and Accounts (FA); Internal Audit (IA);Legal Counselling (LC); Printing Press (PP); Planning (PL); Information and Communication Technology (ICT); Procurement Management (PMU);and Publicity and Marketing (PM).
